Many cats struggle with living in a shelter due to factors such as being confined, being in close proximity to other animals, and the constant exposure to novel people and circumstances. While the very nature of animal shelters inherently creates many of these conditions, the way that we choose to interact with our feline population can minimize the role we play in creating stress for the cats. Cat expert and Registered Veterinary Technician Specialist in Behavior Tabitha Kucera of Chirrups and Chatter speaks extensively on how we can ease the stress of handling for shelter cats.
